Storm cleanup is the big one. A storm takes out limbs and fences across whole neighborhoods at once, and the town programs cannot keep up: Chesnee hauls the first truckload of owner-cut yard debris free and charges $75 a load after that (Sec. 24-24); Landrum picks up limbs and leaves only on the second and fourth Wednesdays in spring and fall; Lyman does not collect whole trees, stumps or land-clearing debris (Sec. 16-24); and Greer wants abnormal amounts of brush removed within seven days of cutting (Sec. 74-32). Soil, stumps and the weight line
Branches, brush and hedge trimmings are light. Soil, sod, wet leaves, stumps and roots are not. A 20 of brush is nowhere near its weight allowance; a 20 heaped with dirt is well over it. Every town runs its own yard program, and none of them is built for a whole yard at once. City of Spartanburg: green waste is limited to residential clippings from routine pruning and landscaping, limbs no longer than six feet or thicker than six inches, no stumps, dirt or land-clearing debris, and nothing from commercial tree cutting or landscaping services; City code also caps a yard-waste collection at 30 cubic yards. Spartanburg County: yard debris goes only to the Wellford Landfill, limbs six feet or shorter, where the county also runs a wood chipping and grinding facility; the recycling centers serve county residents only. Can I put dirt in a yard waste dumpster?
Yes, in its own 10 yard loaded level. Soil is heavy, and a bigger box heaped with it is more than the truck can safely haul. Tell us it is part of the job when you book and we will plan the loads.
Can I put a whole tree in?
Cut to fit, yes — branches, trunks and stumps are fine. Keep everything level with the top edge. Big stumps and root balls are heavy, so tell us about them.
How fast after a storm can you deliver?

Do you recycle green waste?
Whenever possible. Clean green loads are kept separate from household trash, as South Carolina law requires, so they can be chipped, ground or recycled rather than buried. Treated lumber, plastic or household trash in the box spoils that.
