Roll-off dumpster rental in Spartanburg
The yard is at 9091 Asheville Hwy in unincorporated Spartanburg County, just outside Spartanburg city limits.
Spartanburg is where the trucks start. The yard sits on Asheville Highway just outside city limits, and delivery is same-day or next-day anywhere in the city — often the same day.
It is a city of 38,732 at the 2020 Census (39,978 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate), in a county that grew from 327,997 to an estimated 380,857 over the same years. City crews take household carts, bulk items and routine yard clippings, but not tires, electronics or contractor-generated construction and demolition materials. A kitchen, a roof or a whole-house clear-out is roll-off work.
Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Spartanburg
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Morgan Square — City Council has been hearing updates on the Morgan Square redevelopment process.
- A college town — Spartanburg County lists Converse University, Wofford College, USC Upstate, Spartanburg Community College, Spartanburg Methodist College, VCOM and Sherman College of Chiropractic.
- Two interstates — I-26 and I-85 meet in Spartanburg County; SCDOT refers to "the I-26 exit ramps off of I-85 in Spartanburg County."
- City bulk pickup — furniture and appliances set 3 feet from your cart are usually removed within 1 to 2 business days. Tires, electronics and contractor debris are not on the list.
- Wellford Landfill at 595 Little Mountain Rd — the County runs a Class Two landfill for construction, demolition and land-clearing debris and a Class Three landfill for household trash there, open 7 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Saturday.

What comes out of Spartanburg properties
Kitchens, baths, flooring and roofs in 15s and 20s, whole-house cleanouts in 20s and 30s, demolition and new construction in 30s and 40s, and a 10 for concrete, brick and dirt. Inside the city, Code §28-81 wants construction and demolition debris contained by the end of every working day, with containers sized to the job, and §28-43 makes it unlawful to set contract-work debris at the curb for collection.
South Carolina decides what stays out of the container. State law keeps lead-acid batteries, used motor oil and whole tires out of landfills, along with home TVs, computers, monitors and printers. Fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and A/C units are white goods, barred from household-trash landfills, and fridges, freezers and window units need their refrigerant recovered first under EPA rules. Wet paint, thinner and fluorescent tubes are a no; dried-out paint cans are fine. Lumber, drywall, shingles, concrete, brick, flooring, furniture and mattresses are all on SCDES's acceptable list for construction and demolition landfills.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Spartanburg
Who may haul: City Code §10-1 requires a business license from anyone doing business in whole or in part inside city limits, and Spartanburg County Code §66-3 requires every private collector collecting or transporting refuse in the county to hold a county collector's license. We hold ours. We found no exclusive franchise for roll-off or construction debris work.
On your driveway: we found no City or County rule for a roll-off on a private driveway. That is the simple place for it — it normally needs no permit, and our crew confirms the spot with you at drop-off.
In the street, on the sidewalk or in a parking space — the rule that matters: City Code §30-156 bars any obstruction of a street without the city manager's consent, and "street" includes the strip between the curb and the property line. The route is the City's Temporary Street Closure and/or Encroachment Application: a minimum fee of $75, a $1,000,000 liability certificate and a $10,000 surety bond naming the City, a hold harmless agreement, a traffic control plan approved by the Traffic Services Manager (864-596-3741), and a copy of the SCDOT permit if it is a state road. No permit is processed before a business license is obtained.
Lights at night: §30-158(b) wants anything left on a City street or sidewalk lit after dark — at least one light at each end and one every 25 feet in between. On a state road, S.C. Code §57-7-210 bars obstructions anywhere in the right-of-way, shoulders included; SCDOT handles encroachment permits in its right-of-way and charges no fee for them.
Knocking something down: for a commercial building, or an apartment building of more than four units, SCDES (formerly DHEC) needs a written demolition application at least 10 working days before work starts, even if no asbestos is found. Homes of four units or fewer are generally exempt from the state's asbestos project rules when the owner does the work. Asbestos needs its own handling — SCDES requires a "permission for disposal" letter before it goes to a landfill, so tell us before any goes in.
Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.
How it works
Booking a dumpster in Spartanburg
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask your location, what you are clearing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it level with the top edge and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil and filters, liquid paint, chemicals, propane tanks, TVs and computers, and appliances such as fridges, washers and water heaters. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load goes to Spartanburg County's Wellford Landfill — the county's own landfill, where county code sends licensed haulers — with metal, concrete, cardboard and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.
